Jack Reilly - Abstract Illusionism

Jack Reilly broke into the Los Angeles art scene with geometric abstract paintings that depicted light, color, and illusionary pictorial space on shaped-canvas structures. He is recognized as an original artist of the Abstract Illusionism movement, and one of the foremost artists working in shaped canvas today and known for his elegant visual systems, signature brushwork and meticulous technique. While these paintings appear to consist of  multiple layers, they are actually flat surfaces on a single shaped canvas. The layers and depth you perceive is a painted illusion. Artwork displayed on this page represents an overview of Reilly's work dating back to his early abstract paintings of the late 1970s.
